Spending the day in JA Biz Town was awesome!! We were in charge of running Merit Medical for the day with our friend, Samantha. We manufactured 'Smart Pills', sold and delivered them to the employees of the 20+ businesses in the town, performed the duties of CEO, CFO, Sales Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and were one of 3 businesses that made enough money to pay off our business loan. We are so grateful for the opportunity to do this and can't wait to go again!

Basic Topics: Virtual Learning via Acellus

This is the story of my schooling experience. I was homeschooled until I was 12, when I wanted to try out public school and see what it was like. It was pretty fun at first; I made a few friends, and I got to experience something new. After a while I got tired of sitting in a chair listening to a teacher for 6-7 hours a day.

At the beginning of my 2nd semester in 7th grade, my sisters had just started a new program in their homeschool called Acellus Academy and it seemed like they enjoyed it a lot better than IXL. We had previously been using IXL for basic subjects (Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies)...and I liked how it showed me how to do the problem when I got it incorrect, however, I had to figure out most of it myself (with my dad's assistance) rather than having a teacher show me.

Acellus Academy is like the best of homeschool and public school, so I decided to switch to it. I love that there are videos of the teachers explaining how to do stuff. They are fun and engaging and have the questions and exams right inside the short videos. I can go at my own pace, and sometimes I can work hard and get the whole week of basic subjects done in a day!

Also I have more time to do things I love. I started writing my first book (about a day in my life 10 years from now), and I started skiing lessons with my sisters at Snowbird Resort and have been skiing 16 times in the first 2 months of 2017. Life is good :-)
